The Healthcare Distribution Alliance (HDA), in collaboration with Industry Insights — a leading, independent research firm — hosted this survey of manufacturers and distributors quarterly to benchmark data exchange for the purposes of DSCSA systems stabilization and compliance. This edition shares results from Q1 2024.

The Data Exchange Benchmarking Survey tracks and reports the industry’s continued progress with making successful connections and sharing transaction data downstream throughout the FDA’s stabilization period (November 2023‒November 2024). Specifically, the survey observes and tracks the conversion of planned-to-completed connections, data aggregation and sending of EPCIS data. The survey reflects a revised approach to HDA’s previous benchmarking surveys, which gauged the industry’s progress on adopting the Electronic Product Code Information Services (EPCIS) messaging standard for DSCSA compliance.
