Chester “Chip” Davis, Jr., JD, is the President and Chief Executive Office of HDA and President of the HDA Research Foundation. HDA is the national association representing pharmaceutical distributors — the vital link between the nation’s 1,400 manufacturers and nearly 330,000 sites of care. Mr. Davis oversees HDA’s day-to-day
operations and is responsible for ensuring that the organization’s members have a strong advocacy voice in legislation, regulation and policy.

Mr. Davis joined HDA in March 2020 from the Association of Accessible Medicines (AAM), the nation’s leading trade association for manufacturers of generic and biosimilar medicines, where he served as President and Chief Executive Officer since 2015. Prior to AAM, Mr. Davis held leadership roles at the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America and AstraZeneca, where in 2007 he was recognized as one of the inaugural winners of the CEO Leadership Award.

Mr. Davis earned an undergraduate degree in Accounting from the University of Delaware, and a Juris Doctor from the University of Baltimore School of Law.

As Vice President of Industry Relations for IQVIA (formerly QuintilesIMS) – the world’s largest pharmaceutical information company – Doug has been a leader with the company since 1989 in implementing health databases, developing new products and fostering relationships with distributors, manufacturers, retailers and industry associations.

Doug’s annual Industry Year in Review showcases his unique perspective on a range of vital pharmaceutical topics, including global market trends, industry forecasts, research and development, marketing practices, blockbuster drugs, patent expirations and generic trends and biotechnology.

Wholesalers, retailers, manufacturers and healthcare trade associations rely on him for guidance, direction and industry expertise. Doug is a highly sought-after industry speaker at healthcare association and trade meetings. He also serves as a permanent member of the Editorial Advisory Board of HealthCare Distributor magazine.

Doug is the recipient of several industry achievement awards –the IFPW (International Federation of Pharmaceutical Wholesalers) Leadership award (2016), the Harold W. Pratt Award, bestowed by the National Association of Chain Drug Stores (2012); the Nexus Award for Lifetime Achievement by the Healthcare Distribution Management Association (2004); and, IMS Health’s prestigious Summit Award (2003) and the Chinese Association of Pharmaceutical Commerce 2017 Award for his contributions to the Chinese Supply Chain.

Prior to IQVIA, Doug was at Nielsen Market Research for 16 years in sales and marketing capacities. A native of Illinois, Doug received a BA from DePauw University and an MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University.

Gustave F. Perna is a retired United States Army four-star general who last served as the Chief Operating Officer of the federal COVID-19 response for vaccine and therapeutics. He served as the Chief Operating Officer of Operation Warp Speed from July 2020 until the operation's duties and responsibilities were transferred to the White House COVID-19 Response Team in February 2021. As the Chief Operating Officer of the COVID-19 response, he oversaw the logistics of the United States federal government's distribution of the vaccine for the COVID-19 pandemic.

Perna previously served as the 19th Commanding General of the United States Army Materiel Command from September 30, 2016 to July 2, 2020. He also served for two years as the Army's Deputy Chief of Staff, overseeing policies and procedures used by all United States Army logistic personnel throughout the world.

Melissa Stockwell is an American war hero who has triumphed over personal tragedy to achieve greatness and World Champion status. She has dedicated her life to chasing remarkable accomplishments while giving back.

After being deployed to Iraq in 2004, she became the first female American soldier to lose a limb in active combat, when her vehicle was hit by a roadside bomb. She was honored with a purple heart and a bronze star and made a
promise not to let losing a leg slow her down.

Four years later, she became the first Iraq war veteran to qualify for the Paralympic games, competing in swimming at the 2008 Beijing Paralympics, where she was selected to be the flag bearer for Team USA. She then turned to the sport of triathlon, competing and medaling in the 2016 and 2021 Paralympic games. Melissa is now training toward Paris 2024 in hopes of her fourth Paralympics.
