Developed by HDA’s eCommerce Task Force, this electronic data interchange (EDI) transaction set explains the application of the Accredited Standards Committee (ASC) X12 standards as they pertain to the Purchase Order transaction set for use in healthcare distribution. The updated guidelines provide Drug Supply Chain Security Act (DSCSA)-compliant recommendations for wholesale distributors in coding EDI 850s and generating subsequent EPCIS transaction data related to drop shipments. The guidelines also provide updated business use case examples.
