ARLINGTON, Va. — The Healthcare Distribution Alliance (HDA) was named one of the 100 “Best Places to Work in Virginia” by Virginia Business magazine and Best Companies Group. This is the ninth year that HDA has received this distinction.
“In a year when so many of our organizations have had to quickly adapt and rise to the challenges of COVID-19, it is gratifying to be recognized as one of the best workplaces in the commonwealth,” said Chester “Chip” Davis, Jr., President and CEO, HDA. “HDA is proud to foster a collaborative and supportive culture, which enables our talented and dedicated staff to accomplish great things on behalf of our 36 healthcare distributor members. I celebrate this honor with them.”
Each year, Virginia Business identifies, recognizes and honors the best places of employment across the commonwealth, benefiting its economy, workforce and businesses. Publicly or privately held for-profit, not-for-profit businesses or government entities that have been in business for a minimum of one year, with a facility in Virginia, and at least 15 employees working within the state, are eligible to participate.
Organizations from across Virginia were evaluated through a two-part survey process, the first of which reviewed each organization’s policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics. Results of an employee survey comprised the majority (75 percent) of the overall evaluation score. Data were analyzed by Best Companies Group to determine the final ranking.

The Healthcare Distribution Alliance (HDA) represents primary pharmaceutical distributors — the vital link between the nation’s pharmaceutical manufacturers and pharmacies, hospitals, long-term care facilities, clinics and others nationwide. Since 1876, HDA has helped members navigate regulations and innovations to get the right medicines to the right patients at the right time, safely and efficiently. The HDA Research Foundation, HDA’s nonprofit charitable foundation, serves the healthcare industry by providing research and education focused on priority healthcare supply chain issues.
