HDA Statement on Biden-Harris Inauguration

January 20, 2021

ARLINGTON, Va. — Healthcare Distribution Alliance (HDA) President and CEO Chester “Chip” Davis, Jr., issued the following statement.

“We congratulate President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris on today’s inauguration and the beginning of their new administration. As we mark this historic moment and the start of new leadership, our country faces several hardships — most importantly, the response to the COVID-19 public health crisis.

“The healthcare distribution industry is committed to supporting the new administration’s COVID-19 pandemic response through a coordinated effort across the entire pharmaceutical supply chain, continuing to work in step with federal and state governments as well as pharmacies and healthcare providers as we focus on ensuring Americans’ access to vaccines and other approved therapies.

“Our industry brings a unique perspective to the COVID-19 pandemic, having previous experience responding to large-scale public health emergencies and quickly mobilizing to support communities in need. We have and will continue to leverage our logistics expertise and extensive supply chain networks as we navigate the unprecedented demands of COVID-19.

“In addition to advocating for policies to leverage our industry’s critical role in an efficient and resilient pharmaceutical supply chain — during COVID-19 and beyond — we look forward to partnering with the new administration and members of Congress on initiatives that ensure healthcare providers, pharmacies and other sites of care have access to the medicines, healthcare products and medical supplies their patients need.”
